Hi - I have a very similar car to yours ('91 745 turbo) and my indy mechanic recently took a lot of the foam out of the airbox because it was geting loose and getting in the way of the Air Mass Meter (I am referring to the foam that lined the top of the airbox, not the foam that is below the air filter).

BTW, I tried pulling up the pictures, and was not able to.
