Ignition switch?1988 740 GLE 700

Hi..could someone please help with my latest volvo problem.While driving the dash board warning lights came on as if the car stalled out but didn't.I turned the key just a hair to see if it was sticking and the car shut off.Then turned it back a hair and it was running but warning lights stayed on..I'm guessing it's the ignition switch..how much would it cost to replace and is it any big deal to change?..Thanks so much for any help..Ken
