Gas odor 900 1992

When I stop the motor and get out of my 940 Turbo wagon, I sometimes smell a faint odor of gas. I disappears after 20 seconds or so. Start the car again and shut it oiff, the odor returns. Most prominent near the driver side rear door and gas cap area, but osometuimes noticable on the passenger side of the car. No smell of gas inside the car.

Anybody else had this problem? How would you investigate it? Thought I'd ask before I start chasing this problem down.
