Clutch slips - Help! 200 1981

Here's the scenario: I have a 1981 240 DL wagon. The overdrive would only work occasionallly, fuse etc. were good. I thought it was probably low on fluid, so decided to change the fluid and fill it up. OD works great now, but after the car gets warm the clutch slips in first and second sometimes. Doesn't seem to slip in 3rd, 4th, or OD, and doesn't do it all the time. Did I overfill it? And if so, will it be ok if I simply remove some of the oil or do I need to replace a seal? Or is it probably something else entirely?
