Should new black expansion cap hiss when engine is hot like old black cap did? 700 1990

Original Volvo black expansion 75kPa was 14 years old so thought I'd replace it with a new generic black IPD cap with same 75kPa except it does not say Volvo on it and cost $7.95. Original cap would hiss releasing pressure with hot engine but new cap stays tight--no pressure releasing hiss and we just got back from climbing a mountain (barely) with the heavy brick. What is your opinion, do you think the old cap was maybe tired out and releasing pressure at a lesser rating than 75kPa but the new cap is working as it should? Sorry for such a trivial question.
