The book covers "B230FT 1985" on. I agree, this must be an earlier version of the turbo mounting. I looked at my son's '95 B230FT and it is totally different from the book. Your are totally correct. There are threaded studs and nuts holding the turbo onto the manifold. This also may be a Garrett mounting rather than a Mitsubishi.
