Topic: Power Seats in '94 940 Wagon
I checked the excellent FAQs, but - unless I missed something - found no guidance on the issue below.
My car has a driver's side powered seat. The passenger seat is manual. I'd like to put a power seat on the passenger side, so that both front seats are powered.
I have a powered passenger seat. I got from a salvage yard, the wiring harnesses that run from the seat computer/motors all the way to the receptable in wiring harness, that is beside the center console.
Is there a receptable on the wiring harness on the passenger side of the console, into which the passenger seat's electrical harness can be connected?
That is, were the wiring systems on all 940 cars set up for dual power seats, so that one or both seats could be powered, depending on the specs for a particular vehicle?
If there is no receptable on the passenger side of the console, is it possible (and if possible, sound) to put three-way taps onto the driver's seat electrical harness, and from there to bring power to the passenger seat?
It would seem obvious that if power supply to the driver's side seat is also used to support a powered passenger seat, both seats cannot be adjusted at once, else the power draw will blow the fuse.
Thanks very much for any help you can provide. I appreciate it.
