Why am I cursed with this car? Ready to sell this bomb!! VolVos suck!!!! 200

A transmission power flush (or even changing the fluid yourself) will help this, but most likely not cure it.

Your mileage may vary, but if indeed your kickdown cable is properly adjusted, a sticking ball in the valve body in the transmission is most likely the culprit. You can have the valve body for the auto transmission rebuilt, or buy a rebuilt one and install it. The transmission doesn't have to come out for this job. It's about 4 hours of labour, plus parts, and new fluid.

For what it's worth, I have fits like these from time to time, and put it into perspective by realizing that I'm driving a car that's 13 years old, and doesn't cost me car payments [:-)]. It isn't a new car, and you shouldn't expect brand new car results unless you replace everything. This isn't to say it shouldn't be running well.

Good luck!
Chris
