Several Questions - DriveShaft Bearing & Oil Pump 200 1990

I have several questions to ask. I know that Don "THE Man" Foster is an absolute genious. I relaced my drive shaft bearing/support/spring/cup several weeksa ago. He was correct. It did stop the high whining noise....for a bit. Sometimes, when it gets cold outside (50-60 degrees f.) it will start whining again. It will quickly stop after the whole thing gets warm. Does it need replacing again (was this one a bad one?)

I am thinking about my Oil Pump. My 1990 245 Wagon (which I love) has just turned over 179,000 miles. Do I need to consider an Oil Pump Change? If so, is there a way to test it WITHOUT a Pressure Gauge? If so, please tell me. If not, please tell me What I need to test it.

Also, for the Oil Pump, what recommendations do you suggest, the ScanTech OR the Febie/Bilstein Pump? Any & ALL help is GREATLY appreciated.

Todd :-)
