People warned me about this when I bought the old Volvo 145 200 1992

"Dangit,My 70 ss chevelle only has 450 HP." I am sorry to hear that you are in a state of deprevation. Remember, "There is no replacement for displacement", to get a comfortable 500hp I had a mild overbore and stroke to my 440 to bring it to 506. Idle is a little lumpy, but sometimes I amuse a ricer with a wheelstand at a stoplight. I have had to tub the rears and move the springs in. GM has a crate motor which I think is 502. I am little hazy on that one, when it comes to horsepower it is "Mopar or no car". If you must have a V8 in your Volvo, Mopar has reintroduced the "Mayor of Carville" in the form of a new Hemi. For just a few dollars more, they will sell it to you with a supercharger and 450hp. A fairly compact package and no erratic idle.
