oil pan gasket replacement? 700 1992

Well I finally got the 92 740 running and she sounds very nice and smooth. Only problem is oil is flying out of the oil pan where the timing cover meets the pan. I replaced the timing cover gasket and the bottom of the oil pan gasket came off with it. Can I use some red RTV along where the oil pan gasket should be or do I need to replace the whole oil pan gasket. I was going to loosen the pan bolts and wedge the part open where the gasket is missing to lay down some rtv. Will that work or am I in for giant job with the stupid oil pan? Any other suggestions welcome. I am not sure how I let that one get by me but this project has been very daunting and I am ready for it to end.

Anyone need a nice 92 745TI w/108K - purrs like a kitten.
