Wrong fuse OK????

I drive a Volvo 940...1992.. I made to dumb mistake of trying to jump it off in the dark after the light in the glove box was left on.

Yes, I put the negative on the positive and burn the electric system on some level. The radio, clock, overhead light and glove box light were not working (the #5 fuse which is a 15)...So, I put four 15 fuses in and each would just blow the second I put it in. I also had to change the fuse in the back of the CD/radio...

At that point, I am thinking it must be a relay or a fryed electric system...may be a blow wire harness (which I understand from this board to be spendy)...

Then I put a 20 in the #5 fuse rather than the 15 which is suppose to be there and the radio and everything is working fine...But is this move a big and risky mistake...Thanks for your comments
