What are the gear ratios and type of rear-end for a 88 740 gle wagon, with A.T. please help!!!! 700

Greetings:

Does anyone know what type of rear-end that i would need for my 740 gle wagon? I will be going to the junkyard to pick one up. Also is it a non-locking and or locking differential? It does not have ABS. The selections that are available are locking, 3:31 ratio locking, 3:54 ratio and locking, 3:91 ratio. The ratios go all the way up to 4:10 non-locking. Otherwise it is non-locking with/or without ABS, which i don't have. Please any suggestions and or experience would be greatly appreciated. Also what would my advantages be in upgrading from the original rear-end gear ratio, durability wise? What is the longevity of these particular rear-ends? I like the low-end torque very well, additionally would a 960 and or a 940 1990-1994 differential be at all compatible? Also would it have to come from a station wagon? Currently the wagon has 235,000 miles on it.

Thanks in Advance

Best Regards!
