Odometer does not work K10042 200 1988

I purchased a 1988 240 with an inoperable odometer. I purcashed a new cluster, same problem. The seller of the cluster sent me a new gear, which I repalced in my original cluster, same problem. As it turned out, the gear in the "new" cluster was entact. Now I am wondering if the wiring to cluster was incorrect as I reconnected it in the way in which I found it. Recently the cluster was removed and reinstalled by a mechanic while relacing the heater control valve, I assume that had their been an error, he would have corrected it.

Does anyone have a photo of how the K10042 should be hooked up.

Thanks for your time.
