Why does my car start now? 700 1978

My 760 Turbo (b23FT) would not start for me. It sat for several months.

I began rediagnosis, checking fuel injectors for signal, (I was convinced it was a fuel issue) and determined that despite a harness in bas shape, the injectors were receiving signal and actuation (with the aid of a stethoscope).

Checking the spark plugs, once again, the car started with the 1st cylinder plug disconnected. The car will now start with the 1 and 2 cylinder plugs disconnected. Spark is being sent through those wires, but when those wires are connected, the car will not start.

Can someone please let me know what this may indicate? I believe everthing is in the right place, although I am not sure how to interpret the firing order outlined in the standard OTC manuals.

Please let me know, maybe my manual interpretation defencies are at fault. I did switch the 1 and 2 cylinder ignition wires with no change in the no start situation.

Thanks,

Howard
