240 wiper motor 200 1988

The wiper motor on my 88 240 was slowing down and heating up
badly so I replaced it with a new aftermarket version which intially
worked but soon started blowing the fuse. It's similar to the original
but has a ground strap that I have grounded the the shock tower.
Wipers stop in the "all the way up"position every time fuse blows.
Still happens with a 25 amp fuse. Sound like a problem with the motor?
Or maybe the linkage? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
