Tbelt /seal question 200

I have a used B230 (w/o distributor) that I changed seals,belt and tensioner.
I put the cover on, then got to worrying about the int. shaft when I went to put a dist. in. What if its off a tooth or 5?
I need to pull the belt off and what? Put the dist. in, rotor pointing to the thermostat? Then put the int. sprocket where I think it goes? (There are no marks on the timing cover for the int. shaft, just the camshaft.

IF its off a few teeth, will timing with a light cure that problem? Or will I need to open it up again and adjust the sprocket by trial and error?

TIA, Mark
