Seized A/C compressor (and R134a retrofit) 200

At the end of a 900 mile round trip, my '85 240 started spewing sparks (saw them out the rearview) 10 miles from home. I pulled over, turned off the engine, and opened the hood to see the belt sizzling and bubbling on the obviously very hot A/C compressor pulley. A passing motorist with clearer thinking than mine suggested cutting off the belt to get the car home. So, I've got no A/C and no power steering while trying to figure out what comes next.

I've already bought, but not installed, an A/C retrofit kit from fcpgroton to switch from R12 to R134. Now, I guess a new compressor gets added to the system. If I decide to go with a new unit from fcpgroton, rather than a junker, do I get their R134 configuration, without built-in fill and discharge ports? or the R-12 version with ports, and change it to R134 type oil?

I'm assuming there's nothing to salvage from the old compressor, other than getting what may be left of the R12 professionally removed. Is this correct?
