B234F Idle air control 700 1989

My 740 was idling extremely low mostly in the hot months, but only on the second start/run. If you started it in the morning, you could drive it all day, but turn it off and go to start it again, it would not idle up. I took the IAC valve out, cleaned it and then put marvel mystery oil in it to ensure it was operating freely, and jumped the connectors to verify proper operation. It operates properly. Now it will close when it's not supposed to, turning off the engine, with no warning at all, cold or hot. OBD codes were Mass air signalì and Lamda adjustment. I know I need an O2 sensor (orig, has 215K). I am wondering what inputs the computer inside the kick panel uses to command the IAC valve. I amn guessing there may be a signal it is not getting sometimes, causing it to tell the IAC to close when it shouldn't.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
THX
