Overdrive Rebuildable? (Unsure about sliding clutch facing) 200

I have an older J Type OD that I would like to rebuild (per Duane Hoberg's FAQ write-up), but don't know if this unit is good enough to rebuild.

Specifically, How can I tell if the Sliding Member and Brake Ring clutch facings have enough meat left to make the job worthwhile?

I took this one apart, and think I can do the job. It's pretty old (from a 10-spline tranny), but has been "on the shelf" (unused) for at least 12 years.

My intent is to replace the dead OD in my son's '86 240 (original unit, 248k miles). My only question (so far) is whether the internal clutch surfaces are shot or not.

Any advice will be much appreciated,
