Odd Steering Problem ? 200

There are 2 small U joints on the steering column.. I would habve these checked ASAP... Perhaps these have seen better days, and if they were rusted and have broken free, or are in fact broken you could loose all steering at once!!!

Check these in several possitions as you or a helper turns the steering wheel. I can think of nothing else that could cause this feel...

It might be these bind in some places and so feel normal, while slop develops in other places in the arc of rotation.

My 2nd choice might be the lower controll arm bushings, but I think you would have noticed that before and it would clunk and not so swervy(sp) feeling. Mac
