My friend bought a 1972 142E about a month ago. Up 'till now she's had little trouble with the car. Now it's running really horrible. She's had a real hard time starting the car over the past few days. In order to start it up she had to pump on gas and keep clicking the key at the same time to get it going. Finally when it started the car ran louder and rougher then normal. It was making a clinking metallic sound as she drove down the road. The next day as she was going to school the clinking stopped it started running like normal. Later that day when she got out of class it started right up and it again ran as normal. A few hours later the car flat out would not start. Now all of this is what she just told me over the phone. I have not personally seen the car do any of these things. I was just hoping for a little heads up on what the car could potentially be doing. Tomorrow I am going to look over the car and see if there is anything I can do to fix it. If anyone has any advice please, please post it on here. I'll be back on the brickboard with an update on my progress. Thank you all very much for your help.
