stalling 900

My 940 Turbo with 168,000 mileage, it stalled while driving over a bridge.
The lights didn't go on until I got past the bridge and onto the road side safely.
I asked my son if ths happened to him and, he said it misfired once when starting up to shut the sun roof.
The alternator was replaced last February. Before it was replaced it was making sounds when idleing the sounds of like the sounds of last night before it stalled. This sounds like another alternator problem.
What do you think?
