I feel cheated! 200 1978

Hello all
I have had volvos for about 2 years now. All work I have done was just to keep them running. I have wanted to do a "mod" but never had time or money. Recently, my 1983 245 wagon was demoted to parts car. I decided to get the rear springs and put them on my 78 244 along with the better shocks on the wagon. Only six bolts needed to be removed for this from each car. 2 on shocks 1 on spring retainer, times 2 for each side. The very last bolt spun inside retainer and I could not get grip on it. 2 hours later and total destruction of bolt, I got it loose. upon inspection the springs from both cars seem to be identical. I think the wagon is supposed to be longer. This tells me someone beat me to the mod on this 244. So while I did swap the springs I still have not done a mod. *sigh* well the shocks make a great difference, better luck next mod.
Thank you brickboard for the insight and confidence to do many jobs on these cars i would normally be to afraid to attempt.
