Shiftlock override not working- I've already replaced fuse 7 200

Hello,

I've got a 1991 240 with 186,000 miles on it. I love my car. However, I'm having a problem- it's very difficult to get it out of Park (automatic transmission). The override switch used to work, but now it hardly works at all. It generally takes a good 3-4 minutes of struggling to get the thing in Drive.

Now, when I park my car, I leave it in Neutral, pull up the emergency break and take the key out of the ignition. This has been working well- I hope this isn't bad for my car, to leave it in Neutral for the night.

But what's the problem here? I've already replaced all the fuses in my car, including fuse 7, which covers the shiftlock. Still no improvement.

Do you have any advice? Thank you very much for your help.

Philippe
