Hi
As most volvo owner can tell you there cars last long. My car is a 89 with 200k+ and the engine has never been opened . the timing belt broke once but everything was fine .The oil is changed every 3-4months avg 800miles a month and that it. I am a senior (12grade) and 2nd year diesel tech student and my car is very slow but it gets me places in comfort. I THINK YOU BEST BET IS A REBUILT ENGINE MAYBE TRANNY TOO this would be good if you did the work yourself NOT HARD . This is the best car for a your kid and it seats all here friend and shopping bags easy. and its safe.
