Need New Engine 700 1992

Your mechanic probably didn't break a sweat looking.

A rebuild will cost a bundle -- parts prices, particularly from Mother Volvo, will take your breath and your wallet away.

"Also I get the idea that the non-turbo 93 740 motors have a better oiling situation.yes, no???"

Dunno. Interesting question. Even the weakest B230F, if driven more-or-less sanely, should last a good 350k miles before needing replacement (piston slap the usual indication of accumulated miles).

My '86 245 has about 285k, runs quiet, no piston slap.

My '90 240 sedan has just 200k, runs quiet, no piston slap.

My '91 740 sedan has 235k, runs great but has some piston slap when cold (which I attribute to wife accelerating 0 to 85 in the driveway during the first nanosecond on those sub-zero days...).
