Engine mounts, and vibration still going on. 700 1989

Did a service on the old girl today.

I noticed that there was about a 10 mm gap between the fan and the shroud, what should it be ?

I am thinking of changing the engine mounts to try and rid me of this vibration/noise on acceleration.I don't want to change them and still have this problem, as they want £160 FOR THE PAIR.

My tranny mount was shot and changed about a month ago,so with that and the distance between the fan/shroud do you think that new mounts will sort out my problems.

I love the car, but the vibration/noise drives me nuts.

Any advice/help would be great
