fuel problem? 200

John, Warm the car up and then do a compression check. This will give you and idea where you are at with the valves / rings.

Think it's a fuel related problem...try a fuel pressure check and check the pump (s) amp draw. Before you do this clean the fuel system fuse (25 AMPER, BEHIND batt). If the pressure is low, try tapping the fuel sys relay while checking the Fuel Press.

Chances are the the hunting idle is just a dirty TBI or small vacuum leak. Check Vacuum hoses and undersided of corragated air intake duct for leaks. Also check the flame trap for congested oil residues.

Gas gage power can be checked at the bung connection into the tank. Probably a good idea to pull the bung and replace the low press pump, intake hose and sock at the same time.
