Fuel Economy Problem - Cont'd 900

1993 940 non-turbo.

As mentioned before, car runs great, plenty of power, smooth idle and acceleration. Car in mint condition. Just had (1,000 miles ago) the fairly major 120,000 mile Volvo service (includes new plugs, filters, & belts).

Fuel economy is only problem. Only 19/20 overall.

Checked codes. Only one code: 2-2-1 "Fuel supply too weak in part-load stage."

What could this mean? Could O2 sensor be making it too lean sometimes? What else.

Come-on you factory mechanics. You probably know this one.
