Gas Tank Replacement 200

Hi all!

I have an 87 240. There has been a gas smell, and after opening the access plate in the trunk, I know why! The top of the fuel tank is completely rotted, and the in tank pump doesnt look salvageable either.

Two questions:

1. Is the tank something that can be replaced while the car is backed onto ramps? It look fairly simple, but Im worried about starting the job, only to find there isnt enough clearance to do it.

2. Any recommendations of sites to pick up used parts? I was thinking of buying the tank AND the pump as one piece..is this ok?

Lastly - thanks! I've done a lot to this car, and it would be much harder without you all..

Curt
