Exhaust Leak 700 1989

Hi again,

I think I have an exhaust leak. It's somewhere in the vincinity from the front playing by the ear. I've had an exhaust leak before from the crotch in the Y of the downpipe and also from the joint between the downpipe and the exhaust manifold before, so I am all too familiar how it sounds like.

I've tried putting my hand feeling for a leak but it too hot in the engine to appreciate anything esp with the clutch fan around.

So how do I go about looking for the leak? Anyone has any tips to offer? If it turns out to be the joint between the downpipe and the exhaust manifold, is this a doable job for a DIY and what parts do I need? BTW I have taken it a muffler shop and they can't locate it. Their advice, wait till it gets louder.

Thanks.

Aslan
