Starter Removal 200 1991

I'm helping a friend with his car and we need to remove the starter for replacement. It's a 1991 240 with an automatic transmission. I'm curious if there is a trick to get at the two bolt on the starter motor. There is very little room between the firewall and the bolt heads. I can just barely get at the bottom bolt, but the top I'm not so sure about.

Any hints? Unfortunately we're working in his driveway and he doesn't have many tools, so I need to come prepared.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom
