Transmission not shifting -- a possible solution 700

I recently had transmission problems including:

1. Not shifting out of first gear
2. Not shifting beyond 2nd or 3rd gear
3. (not so much transmission) Gas pedal sticking

All of these problems were because the kick down cable was sticking. Apparently, the kick-down cable is actually not necessary for normal transmission operation. That is, the trans is capable of shifting from 1-4 without it. So, if you have any similar problems, simply disconnect the kick down cable and drive on, or replace the cable, if you can't live without the kick down feature.
