A list of problems with my 740. 700

Ok, here's what I have done with my '86 740 IC Turbo, had similar problems.

1. Replaced head gasket.
2. Machined cylinder head (to make it flat instead of bowed).
3. Cleaned flame-trap.
4. New Plugs.

You said it "rumbles" when you pull-away, how often do you change the oil? If it's changed regularly then it's probably not an engine problem other than the obvious problems caused by a damaged cylinder head.

If you continue to run the engine in it's current state you are going to need a new one. Stop using the car and get the cylinder head removed ASAP, check for burnt valves and damage between cylinders. If you have to replace the cylinder head it's better than replacing the engine.
