Replacing Tailshaft bushing- is it OK to re-use old transmission-housing gasket? 200

I have been looking up info in the archives on replacement of the tailshaft bushing and it would seem the hardest part is scraping off the gasket after removing the tailshaft housing.

What would be the risks/dangers of just putting the housing back on with the old gasket still stuck to whatever it sticks to??
(I'm assuming it won't stick to the tailshaft housing which would be easier to clean off).

on side note should I replace the center support bearing at the same time if needed?

I'm trying to lower the noise and vibration level in my car so I can talk to my family while driving .... even though the massage effect is rather nice!

thanks,

jack
