Oil pressure 0 at idle...help (240 Wagon) 200

Just drove a 1993 240 wagon with 215000 miles on it 2500 miles in three days after picking it up...engine made no unusual sounds, ran great. Slight oil leak at front of engine, but I only needed to add 1/2 quart during the trip (I had put fresh 10-40 in at the start of the drive).

Get it home...mechanic fixed the wire that sends data to the oil-pressure warning light, and noted that the light comes on at idle. Here's the scoop:

Using a pressure guage, the oil pressure is 0 at idle (and the warning light comes on), going to 20 pounds at 2000 RPM.

What could the cause be???? Bad oil pump? Excessive clearance somewhere? The mechanics aren't sure at this point...
