Engine tick 200 1993

I have 2 1990 240's and they both kinda have a ticking that is noticable at idle. Based on that I would say it might be normal. My sedan has 276000 miles(orginal cam) and has always sounded that way. No valve clearance adjustment was needed when checked at 200,000. You may want to listen to another 240 and see if it sounds similiar to yours. The cam story doesn't make alot of sense to me. Usually mix 1 quart synthetic mobil 1 10w-30 with 3 quarts castrol 10w-30. Be carefull with additives. These cars can run many miles without them.
