smog control retrofit? new Ca law... 200

Did anyone see this article?

The new plan includes more than 50 new controls such as bans on older styles of jet skis, requirements that owners of older cars retrofit them with modern pollution controls, regulations to put soot traps on older diesels and buses, the electrifying of all cranes at ports, and modifying fork lifts and construction equipment.

Am I the only person that finds this really really scary? Not so much for my brick, but my currently-exempt '72 240Z (hotrodded all to hell and back), '71 Datsun Pickup (dual-carb, no smog, high mile, huge engine) and '72 Riviera (mostly stock but still a smog-spewing hog).

This is the first I've heard of this...
Kyle
California is great, no rust, but we've got more than our share of screwball laws...
