Question about an exhaust manifold leak... 700

Hello everyone,

I was seaching through the archives and discovered that the tactactac sounds coming from the engine might not be the valves (witch were checked twice) could be an exhaust manifold leak. Two questions, could a broken manifold stud cause a leak (or perhaps accelerate a leak). Also, my 1990 740 is a Turbo, could a leak at the manifold cause the turbo not to go into boost?
