heater fan speed 700 1987

I have a 1987 760 turbo plus with auto climate control. Heater fan was working great and when temperature control was adjusted up or down the fan speed increased & decreased automatically.

Today it only works on very low speed and will not increase fan speed even if temperature control is switched to 30 Celsius. Any help would be appreciated
car has 50,000 klms (30,000 miles)
