88 240dl wagon stalling at every stop? 200

My 88 240 wagon w/ 200k+ miles is idling a little rough. It has a sputter like its missing every few seconds. Now it has been shutting down everytime i come to a stop and let my foot off the gas. Before this all happened it wouldnt start very easily, It took about 10 times to get it to run. I have had all the electrics replaced(spark plug, wires, rotor, coil, distributor etc...). Replaced the fuel pump relay and checked fuel filter and pressure. Adjusted the timing, and bumped the idle speed up a little, but have not found the problem. Could a vacuum leak somewhere cause this. If so, does anybody have a link to a vac diagram online. I did notice that there is a vac hose missing from the top of the air cleaner(where the filter goes). What and where does this go to? Any help would be appreciated. Or ideas?
Thanks
