how to: adjusting/modifying 6 CIL(diesel) tacho towards 4 CIL tacho(petrol)? 200 1988

Hello,

is it possible to modify(in a simple way) the 6 cil tacho from the 240 diesel for use in my B200(4cil) engine for correct reading?

Extrapolating the info out of the previous posts(tacho 4 cil =>6 cil) I understand, that if just connect this 6 cil diesel tach, it will indicate 66 %(=4/6) of the gasoline engine revving.

The diesel tachs comes out of 1991 240 junkyard.
range 0 .. 6000 rpm
white tag on the back side: 230 128 3
imp: 91440 12V
Between the electronices behind the plate is a 22kOhm potentiometer(adjustment for what...?)

tnx in advance
btw: superior site here!
