the reason the shocks were changed were because of a really bad job the local volvo mechanic did when he installed a new strut mount. the top bushing(i think) broke and the strut went up puncturing the hood(yea the hood) when the mechanic put the strut in he musta messed the strut up so i ended up replacing the shocks. he put a strut mount in that was off a 1988 740 wagon he had that had a bad tranny.
