CENTER BEARING GONE, HOW DO I REPLACE?

Can any of you fine volvo experts tell me if a driveshaft bearing is a hard thing to do or if your average Joe can do??? I have been told by a tranny shop that the bearing is definately gone and they have explained that because of this the tranny extension has suffered damage....is this possible?

Does anyone know what size bearing and shaft is needed as Volvo has told me that there is two available sizes for hanger and bearing. I drive a 740GLE with a B230F '88 vintage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the assistance!
