HELP with M-46.....I don't understand !!!!!!!!

Hi Dave -

The o/d light is green, in the right side of the row of warning lights. If it never lights up, you might find which one it is by shining a flashlight beam on that area. That's how I find lights that aren't used in my 240's when I am swapping warning lights - bad bulb for good one. They used to put a good light in every one of the light spots, used or not. I found the light for "choke" and swapped ot out.

You might consider buying an Owner's Manual for your Volvo, assuming that you don't have one. Call 1-800-25-VOLVO, that gets Ken Cook Publishing, they handle Volvo books, service manuals, etc. Consider getting the Wiring Diagrams Manual for your car, too. Pricey but a good investment.

As to the tranny problems, look into getting a whole unit from a boneyard. You might spend an inordinate amount of time putzing with the one you have, and the M-46 is not rare at all. Be sure to get one that has no speedo drive gear or find a way to plug the hole where the speedo cable connects.

Good Luck,

Bob
