Pop Pop Pop on radio 200 1988

After replacing my timing belt, idler, and water pump-which of which all went well, thanks to you bricksters, I now have a pop pop pop coming over the radio, like one cylinder is shorting or ???I checked my (new Bourgicord) plug wires, all are tight at plugs and at the distributor. Car runs fine, but I did have to advance it about 60 degrees to get a good throttle response ( I fear I may have missed a tooth on the intermediate shaft)> Any suggestions where to poke around? Car runs nice, cool, and smooth...its just that pop thing.
