Trunk floor soaked 200 1983

I'm trying to find the source of a leak in my trunk. After a hard rain, I found the floor of the trunk to be SOAKED. The upper portion (over the gas tank) was bone dry. There was no evidence of any significant water entry in the spare tire wells. No holes in the bottom of the trunk floor either. I ran water down the trunklid while open, and did not detect any leaks from the gutters around the trunk. So... where is the water getting in???
