How accurate is my tach? 700 1991

Some of you have tried to help me with this ongoing problem - low idle and oil pressure light that goes on at idle when the engine is fully warmed up.

1. How accurate are the tachometers on the 700 series? I have a '91 745 turbo which idles just above the slash mark down from the 1.

2. When the car is fully warmed up and has been driving on the highway or other similar driving, the oil pressure light goes on and stays on at idle (always goes away when engine speed increases even slightly). Note: the owner's manuals states that the oil pressure light may go on after "hard driving" and says this is normal as long as the light goes off when the engine speed is increased.

I am trying to figure out if the low idle is the reason the oil pressure light goes on. Thanks.
