Difficulty Shifting 200 1990

Chances are good that adjustment of the reverse lockout gate will solve the problem. If the reverse lockout ring is lifted does the transmission go into low gears more easily? If so you can peel up the boot and move the gate until it does what it is supposed to do and nothing more. Hardest part is getting the boot and the rug back the way they should be.
